History
At Salt Central our passion is sea salt. We endeavor to bring the finest, purest and healthiest sea salts from around the world and make them both affordable and available for the average individual. As two ordinary Portland guys with an affinity for gourmet foods, we felt table salt lacked a certain excitement and taste. We wanted to move beyond the everyday table salt and find a tastier and more beneficial seasalt.

The idea of starting a retail sea salt and wholesale sea salt business spawned out of our frustration for not being able to locate a single credible, one stop sea salt supplier. There were various sea salt companies across the globe but none that could provide both Celtic salt and Himalayan salt or Fleur de Sel and Dead Sea bath salts. We wanted to be the first to initiate a global sea salt community. By bringing together farmers and co-operatives, aligning harvesters with exporters, we sought to empower the global sea salt community, so ordinary people could taste the extraordinary natural sea salts. Every new trip brought new seasalts and new information on sea salts we had previously thought never existed. Salts from the seas, lakes and mountains; every sea salt uniquely varies in color and shape and every type of salt offers a distinctive structure of elements and minerals essential to our bodies. What a perfect combination, healthy and tasty.

While every sea salt is harvested in a different part of the world, with different harvesting techniques and storing procedures, we have implemented the highest quality control measures to ensure all salt is of a premium grade, clean and full of nutrients. We want our customers to experience sea salt the way it should be enjoyed, pure and natural.
